Cooling instead of air conditioning

The adiabatic evaporative cooler works by taking air from the outside environment and passing it through honeycomb panels constantly sprayed with water by a fan. This process allows the outside air to release some of its heat into the water, cooling by about 7-10°C. Once it enters the room, the cooler air naturally descends to the ground due to its greater density than the warm indoor air.

This type of system requires windows to be open, thus avoiding stratification and relative humidity, ensuring a constant exchange of air. This not only improves the quality of the working microclimate by reducing the presence of viruses and bacteria, but also by eliminating odors and dust from industrial activities.

In contrast, a traditional air conditioner uses a refrigerant gas within a closed circuit, pumped through a coil to cool the air. This process greatly reduces the natural humidity of the air, making it cold and dry, with no exchange with the outside. To operate effectively, an air conditioner requires that doors and windows be closed, which unfortunately can promote the buildup of pathogens and harmful substances in the indoor environment.

Why choose an evaporative air cooler?

After explaining the difference between air conditioners and coolers, we explore the benefits of adopting an industrial cooling system. Art-Eco believes that although adiabatic evaporative cooling can be applied to various environments, our systems excel especially in severe settings such as industrial warehouses and warehouses. Let us examine the reasons for this.

A first reason is functional in nature and is related to the physical principle of evaporative cooling. Unlike traditional systems, which require enclosed environments for effective cooling, in production halls and logistics spaces it is often necessary to maintain openings to the outside for practical reasons.

In addition, without adequate air exchange through open windows, working conditions in many production departments quickly become untenable due to unpleasant odors, accumulations of harmful substances and pathogens, which can cause problems such as asthma and allergies, as well as increase the risk of diseases such as Covid-19 and seasonal flu.

For these reasons, the benefits offered by evaporative cooling make it possible to mitigate the microclimate in even the most difficult or complex industrial environments, where a normal air conditioning system faces countless obstacles.
