Correctly heating workplaces
Working in a suitably heated environment is without doubt an important feel-good factor for everyone. However, there are often actual situations when maintaining the desired temperature in the workplace can be expensive. Just think of large spaces such as those in many industrial sheds, areas that must be constantly open to the outside, or isolated workstations in large spaces that do not need to be heated for other reasons.
The problem of workplace heating must be tackled very carefully both to ensure that all operators have an adequate level of well-being and healthiness, and to avoid wasting energy that unnecessarily affects running costs and damages the environment.
With the cold months approaching, we at Art-Eco would like to illustrate, in this in-depth article, the solutions that we offer for heating workplaces, with the aim of offering some ideas for setting up in your company a system of heaters capable of ensuring the psychological and physical well-being of workers, without wasting energy.
In large spaces and areas that are always open to the outside world, there is a need for versatile solutions that are capable of localised heating
Infrared radiant heating
As it is well known, heat transfer between two bodies at different temperatures can occur by conduction, convection or radiation. In the first case, the two bodies must be in contact with each other, in the second case, there must be a moving fluid to transfer the heat, while heat transmission by radiation, which is the physical principle on which infrared heaters are based, occurs by passing energy through electromagnetic waves.
This is the same energy transfer principle with which the Sun heats the Earth, managing to send its heat through the cosmic void into our atmosphere. Radiant heating does not require matter between the hottest body that gives up the heat and the coldest one that receives it, and does not cause any disturbances of any kind in the space crossed by the electromagnetic waves.
In particular, Art-Eco infrared heaters produce, thanks to a highly efficient gold-coated quartz bulb, short or medium-fast waves, mainly in the infrared frequency spectrum, capable of transmitting heat to areas of different sizes depending on the model, without producing fumes or convective air movement.

The models and the applications of Art Eco infrared heaters
The sectors and situations in which infrared heaters can be used with excellent results are truly diverse: they range from crafts workshops to warehouses, from industrial sheds to places of worship, from restaurant patios to industrial departments.
The reasons for the wide range of application of infrared heaters lies above all in their great versatility: it is possible to mount the lamps on walls, ceilings or floor stands, either indoors or outdoors. Moreover, by combining a suitable number of lamps of different models and powers, it is possible to heat very large areas or localised spaces.
For example, our industrial infrared heaters are designed for continuous and very intensive use; in fact, their high-efficiency quartz bulbs have a guaranteed lifetime of 7000 hours and are resistant to dust and draughts. They are also characterised by high energy efficiency, so that they can be used extensively without excessive burden on running costs, also contributing to the common commitment to environmental protection.
Customised design helps to select the correct type of lamp and its positioning can be identified according to the size of the area to be heated
The different models offered by Art-Eco, all with high quality features, can heat, using infrared rays, an area ranging from a minimum of 5-10 m2 for each element – up to about 35 m2 for the largest models -, with a power absorptions ranging from 1500 W to 6000 W. Depending on the power emitted, an optimal height from the ground is also recommended for installation, to ensure maximum efficiency of our industrial heaters, which also have a low degree of glare due to the light component of the emitted electromagnetic waves.
On the other hand, to meet the need to heat the terrace of a bar or restaurant, or the stand of a trade fair or open-air show, Art-Eco can offer commercial infrared heaters, which can be easily mounted on stands and parasols, as well as on gazebos.
These products are particularly suitable for outdoor use. Their design takes into account the need to be able to withstand rain and atmospheric agents in general. They can heat areas that are normally clearly delimited, of around 5-15 m2, although models are available for special needs that can cover areas of up to 30 m2.
Art-Eco can help you design an infrared heating system for your company, your sales outlet, commercial premises or space intended for shows, ceremonies or trade fairs. Thanks to the work of our experts, we will be able to advise you on the best solution to meet your needs.
